Thulia: The Acronym
THULIA: A Thoughtful Acronym to Inspire Happiness and More
By Charles Harmon
Think of THULIA, the acronym, as a beautiful flower that radiates a wonderful scent, a scent that activates one’s higher levels of consciousness. A scent so powerful it transcends our ordinary life and drives us to bring out the best in us.
THULIA is like a beautiful flower, so brilliant that it shows its radiant colors in sunlit or even overcast skies. Let THULIA ease your mind and make you receptive to bringing out the thoughtfulness and love that is sometimes difficult to release. In the process it will help others as you help yourself.
THULIA
T- thoughtful, H - happiness, U - unity, L - love, I - inspiration, A - abundance
To that end I have created this short essay to help open your mind and let your creative juices flow. Rather than force my views on you, I have elected to mix and match some short poems and writings I found when viewing what others have to say regarding the various components of THULIA.
Since those writers were non professional writers, probably as most of you are, their writings are often unpolished, and sometimes filled with grammatical errors or incorrect usage of words. I have taken the liberty of correcting any obvious grammatical errors. The writings are from a free online poetry site so the credits given are probably their forum user names and not the authors true names.
Here are six short poems (I’m guessing from ordinary people) selected to stimulate your thoughts about THULIA.
The Act of Isolation
Poetry by moonlitgoddess
The girl inside my head told me a story.
Then the aftershock hit & I just sat there quietly,
absorbing & processing, listening.
“You push people away because it’s all you know how to do.
Alienate others because you have to leave them before they leave you.
You make a pre-emptive strike and call it self defense,
save yourself from the pain & hurt that follows.
You can’t fall from grace if you don’t have anyone there to see you stumble.
Save everyone the trouble & embarrassment of witnessing your failure,
always giving them the opportunity to leave, which they mistake as you
asking them to go because you could never ask them to stay.
You could never ask them to stay.”
T This poem was categorized as thoughtful. You be the judge whether thoughtful is a good category.
Dreams
Poetry by caution_tape
As I drift along in the endlessness of my mind
I reach out my fingers to see what I’ll find
Scenes of open fields and vast blue skies
The sweet scent of roses and the tickle of butterflies
An endless sea of what could be
The most wonderful places are in my dreams.
H This poem was categorized as happy. Happiness seems like a fitting category to me.
Let’s Take A Walk
Poetry by Shadow_lover
Lets take a walk just you and me and the open sea; together
Wouldn’t it be nice to not care about anything except each other
and drag our feet through the sand
Let’s take a walk to nowhere in particular and talk like no one is listening
Let’s dance under the stars, let’s dance until our feet hurt
Lets dance until our legs collapse, Lets laugh until we cry
Smile until our cheeks hurt and cry until no more tears flow.
U This poem was not categorized. It seems appropriate to consider it as a symbol of unity - the two persons acting and feeling as one.
Beyond Tongues
Poetry by Coromandel
My longing of one is no need,
But a will,
A will to use the silver chord for connected essences.
My love for one is not addiction,
But a propagation,
The seed for the unknown; fed on the mutual selflessness of a true unity.
My smile for one is not merely a gesture,
But a language for her heart,
The expression beyond tongues, when what I feel to be spoken lingually would be unjust.
L This poem was categorized under romance. It seems appropriate to consider it in the love category.
Could It Be?
Poetry by midnight_angel
A faint smile is painted upon her face
as a glimmer of light shines through her eyes.
What’s this?
Is she happy?
This is an emotion that has been so far gone,
it had to have been lost behind the pain and tears of her past.
Her eyes are filling with a luminosity of colors…
blues and greens mix together and encircle her pupils
as light shines through so gloriously.
What pleasure is this
that she is allowing such a serenity upon her cheeks?
Could it be -
- yes.
I think it is…
{{She’s in love.}}
I This poem was not categorized. However, it seems the girl in the poem would bring inspiration to anyone looking at her.
Children
Poetry by Escaping_thy_nemesis
Children take their carelessness for granted
Children have hearts that plead to be wanted
Children waste their time on silly games
Children dance in gardens and skip along the lanes
Children foolishly throw away so many precious years
Children never learn from mistakes and for the consequences shed tears
{{There is a child inside of us all}}
A This poem was not categorized. However, it seems the child in us still comes through in an abundance of ways.
